Actor Brent Briscoe – known best for his role as JJ of JJ's Diner fame on New Folder (2014)Parks and Recreation– died at 56 on Wednesday. Per Variety, the cause of death is internal bleeding and heart complications sustained after "a serious fall" that put him in the hospital.

On Friday, Parks and Recreationcreator Michael Schur shared a sweet statement on Twitter, thanking Briscoe for "serving Leslie all those waffles" in his role as the owner of Pawnee's local diner.

Briscoe was also known for his more recent role as Detective Dave Macklay on Showtime's Twin Peaksreboot. In a statement shared with Variety, Peaksdirector David Lynch said:
"I want you to know how much I loved working with Brent. I worked with him on "Mulholland Drive" and "Twin Peaks." I loved him as an actor and a great person. I’m holding good thoughts for all of you. I will really miss working with Brent again."
In addition, Briscoe maintained a busy acting career going all the way back to the early 1990s He appeared in episodes of NCIS, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Goliath, Justified, and Scandal, as well as a number of films, including The Green Mileand Lynch's Mulholland Drive.
