On August 30014 Archives Chinese battery maker CATL denied reports of the European Commission investigating its battery factory in Hungary. The company’s Hungarian project has passed the environmental impact assessment by the Hungarian government and is currently progressing smoothly, CATL said. In August 2022, CATL officially announced the construction of a battery factory in the eastern Hungarian city of Debrecen, with a planned production capacity of 100 GWh and an investment of 7.34 billion euros.
