We can't stop saying goodbye to Jon Snow. First was said goodbye when he was dead. Then he wasn't.

But now we face the prospect of the final season of Game of Thronesin 2019,Watch 2 Fast 2 Furious Online and know it's for good this time.

So does actor Kit Harington, who seems equally if not moredevastated by having to say RIP to the character he played for eight years.

“I actually just wrapped on Thursday last week,” he said in a recent BBC Radio 2 interview promoting his stage performance in True West. “It’s just been this amazing journey, and I kind of said to them in my wrap speech that it’s always been more than a job. It’s like they were a family and it was my life. I’ve loved every minute. I’ve been quite emotional the last week, thinking about having ended -- having finished it.”

You can almost hear the threat of tears in Harington's voice on the recording. It's the kind of quiet solemness that makes him so perfect as the ever-brooding Jon Snow.

But we certainly can't poke fun at Harington (or the rest of the cast) for mourning the end to this unparalleled cultural phenomenon. Each goodbye from cast members who wrapped filming for the final season has expressed similarly conflicted, bittersweet feelings about the final season.

Harington's emotional response recalls another Stark boy actor's emotional turmoil over leaving the show many years ago.

Back in 2013, Richard Madden (AKA Robb Stark, AKA The King of the North) told Access Hollywood that he “cried the whole way” home after shooting his infamous Red Wedding death scene.

We don't know what fate awaits Jon Snow's character in Season 8. But we can say with some certainty that the odds of ever seeing him reprise the role again are slim. This is goodbye forever.

Seven hells -- now we need tissues too. 😭😭😭
