Per Gothamist, NYPD officers rescued a lonesome duck wandering the tracks in Brooklyn's Jefferson Street subway stop on Friday morning.

Aaron L. Morrison, a writer for Mic, spotted the bird earlier Friday morning attempting to gain access to the train platform through a service entry.

A NYPD spokesperson tells Gothamistthat the duck was released back into the wild shortly after a speedy Friday morning rescue, constituting a happy ending for Subway Duck. No word on whether the lucky duck got to ride in the back a cop car like these other criminals.
