Warning: Contains chilly spoilers for Game of ThronesSeason 8,Sister episode 3.

If there's one thing we should have learned by now with Game of Thrones, it's that predictions are futile.

And, as is also often the case with Game of Thrones, the clues were there all along. Even if they were predictably vague.

First, let's jump quickly back to Season 3 Episode 6 -- when Melisandre met Arya and made the following prediction:

"I see a darkness in you," Melisandre said. "And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes. Blue eyes. Green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever. We will meet again."

Now, jump forward a few years to the most recent Game of Thronesepisode. Here's the exchange that took place between the two of them, shortly before Arya dashed off to save humankind:

Arya: "You said we'd meet again."

Melisandre: "And here we are. At the end of the world."

Arya: "You said I'd shut many eyes forever. You were right about that too."

Melisandre: "Brown eyes. Green eyes. And blue eyes [...] What do we say to the god of death?"

Arya: "Not today."

Obviously the emphasis there was on the blue eyes -- ie. the Night King.

But as fans on Twitter pointed out, there's one pretty important character with green eyes who is still standing. And she's on Arya's list.

Cersei's eyes are indeed green. Here's a description of her character from the first novel in George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fireseries.

It's now going to be a real competition to see who gets to end Cersei once and for all: her brother, or everyone's favourite Stark assassin.
